Do you really need a wedding planner?

Should I hire a wedding planner? This is a question that newly engaged couples have on their mind time and time again. Over the last few years wedding planners have become more and more popular, and hiring one is something that a lot of couples are looking into. But the question still remains as to if you actually need to hire a wedding planner.

There are many pros and cons that go along with hiring a wedding planner. The fact of the matter is that you will have to make this decision on your own before you can move forward in the process. Just because a friend or a family member hired a wedding planner does not necessarily mean that you should as well.

The Pros

The biggest benefit of working with a wedding planner is that they will be able to walk you through every step of the process. So if you are a little bit worried about the steps that go into the planning process, or think that you may run into trouble, a wedding planner may be right for you.

Additionally, a wedding planner is skilled in giving you the exact ceremony and reception that you have been dreaming of for many years. They know of all the best spots in your area, and will do whatever it takes to give you the wedding that you deserve. All you have to do is give them the details that you are interested in, and they can make it happen for you in one way or the next.

The Cons

But just like anything else, there are some downfalls of hiring a wedding planner. The number one reason to not opt for a planner is that they will charge you for their services. When it comes down to it, you can do everything on your own for free that a wedding planner will charge you for. Sure, it may take you a lot of time to figure things out, but in the end you can get the same results for less money.

Also, many people avoid hiring a wedding planner because they feel like they will lose some control. While this is not always the case, when you work with a planner you will have to give them some control over the situation.

Overall, hiring a wedding planner is right for some couples and wrong for others. You will need to make this decision based on your own needs and preferences.
